Hey everyone!

Well it’s been an interesting day here…interview this morning that I think went well, but they’re interviewing a few more people next week so we’ll see. Hopefully I get it though!!! Got back this afternoon and chilled for a bit, then have been baking up a storm! As soon as I find my camera cable, I’ll do my posts about BBA cinnamon raisin bread, cornbread, and cranberry walnut bread! I think it is on the top shelf in my closet so I just have to get a stool and hunt around a bit… Anyway, hope everyone had a fantastic day, and enjoy the weekend! :)

Well just as I thought I had reached the end of despair, I get not one but TWO calls from recruiters today. Hooray! Interview on Friday, and hoping to schedule the other one soon. Some other good things:

–went to the DC Cares volunteer orientation and am now ready to serve! Really excited to get started…anyone know of good places to volunteer? I’m thinking of doing tutoring/mentoring and/or business help to nonprofits. I’ll let you know what I end up doing.

–Drew got me a Wii Fit for my birthday! Yes, we are now the proud owners of a video game system…oh dear, I just always assumed there’d be more time! (but seriously, so fun)

Free yoga in the courtyard tomorrow! I love summer and Crystal City!

–Season 3 of The Guild starts up soooooooon. Also starting to watch Arrested Development on Hulu. So far pretty funny :) How cute little Michael Cera is! And that girl from Spy Kids!

I think that’s about it; all in all a good day.

It’s official: summertime in Chicago. It finally felt like summer today as I was walking back from class at 4:30 in the afternoon and it’s sunny and warm and breezy and smells like lilacs. Mmm mmm mmm. It’s a good thing I was in such a good mood because I got rejected from both the Uncommon Schools job and the Mission Measurement job…awesome. I am really trying to remain positive here, and hoping that there’s a plan for all of this in the end. Right now I’m going with avoiding a potential showdown between different cities Drew and I get accepted into :) So we’ll see. Back to the drawing board for me, and off to interviews for Drew! We’ll see.

On the bright side, I wanted to share these adorable plates from Crate & Barrel that I saw on this great post from Apartment Therapy. Aren’t they cute? Reminds me of my grandparents’ mix and match dishes that I love oh so much.

And second I wanted to share this even more adorable grill that I will for SURE be buying if I have any idea where I will be living next before July. I just think it is the cutest thing ever, and as if I needed another excuse to cook hot dogs and brats and drink raspberry lemonade while lounging outside in a swimsuit, here it is (hey Drew, maybe you can get me this as an early birthday present…yes? yes?).

Anyway, that’s about it for me. Happy to end another week and excited for the weekend. On tap is free yoga (!) and Bike the Drive, which should be amazing. And incidentally on my list of planned adventures, so bonus!

Good news! And beds

Hi! So first off, I have a second-round interview next week with Direct Supply, an eldercare retail supplier based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I’ll be there probably next Monday evening to Tuesday afternoon, so hopefully that’ll go well! I also heard from Uncommon Schools, a growing network of urban public charter schools in NY/NJ, to schedule a phone screen for next week. Hooray! I am super excited about this one so hopefully that goes well too! Glad to have some good news finally on the job front… Also heard from Nancy that there is a Whirlpool internship spot open for me, which is quite kind, but at this point I’m really hoping I can jump into a full-time job instead of an internship (though preferably I can start in the fall!!! we’ll see about that one though).

Also, I came across this fantastic website called Humble Abode whilst searching for a nickel bed frame. I really like the look to go in a pale blue bedroom with white bedding and white accessories. Anyway, here are the ones I particularly liked!

Interview

Hooray! I have an interview with t.j.maxx next wednesday for their MBA merchandising internship :) It’s located in their headquarters in Framingham, MA, which is a half hour west of Boston. Oh man, I am imagining weekend trips to Cape Cod already! No, but seriously, I really think it might be a good fit, so hopefully I’ll learn more about it and the meeting will go well–wish me luck! And I’ll let you know how it goes next week. Oh, I am so ready to be done with finals!!

Where Am I?
