Dresses

I think most people tend to buy one kind of item when they go shopping: pants, sweaters, t-shirts, workout gear, work attire, jewelry, bags, shoes…for me it is dresses. Whenever I go shopping I am immediately drawn to pretty, flouncy, usually dressy dresses. I find it perfectly reasonable to spend $300 on a nice dress, but balk at spending the same for a shirt and pants. I think it might be an aspirational thing, and if I’m ever rich and famous, I plan to have a wardrobe full of dresses that I wear daily. For now my normal routine is jeans and a t-shirt or sweater, though when I’m working I get to wear all my dressy clothes, which is nice. And all this to say–here are a couple dresses that I have saved!
From Lirola’s etsy shop
I don’t usually go for drop waists, but I love this Adrianna Pepell dress from Nordstrom
Not exactly a dress, but a flouncy jacket from Tulle
And I love these costumes from The Joffrey Ballet

I just love the striped pleats of this dress and the general ’50s flair!

And the print on this dress is so adorable! So sad it’s sold out–but check out her other ones, and you can get a custom-made dress!!!

I really might splurge and get these for myself…Joe’s leggings from Anthropologie…I think I might live in them.

This weekend I was browsing for a replacement wallet to my D&B wristlet. This one is so adorable, if only it had a strap of some kind!

Hmmm….what about this one??

Preferably a girl so I could buy her things like this adorable vintage shirt-dress-thing. Can’t you just imagine it with white leggings?!?! Oh… See more adorable (and cheap!) vintage clothes for babies at baby hank’s etsy shop.

Mugs

Just time for one new post tonight, since I have to wake up crazy early tomorrow to hear Jeff Fettig, Whirlpool’s Chairman and CEO, speak over breakfast. YAY, but man 7:30 is early! Plus I have a longer run tomorrow that I’ll have to do after work, so I need to make sure I’m rested. Today ended up being a nice day, I had a nice run after work, and an even better dinner out with everyone at Roadhouse…am feeling quite stuffed, and ready to sleep! But first here are several mugs I found on Etsy that I really liked. I’m strongly considering adopting my grandparents’ habit of buying dishes in pairs of two, instead of 8 or 10, and then having a fun collection for meals and such. Plus it works well with my ever changing moods and tastes! Anyway here they are–scroll over the pictures to see whose store it is.
Hmmmm didn’t realize I had so many, and also an important note is that I’m becoming a big fan of black tea, hence the fascination with mugs. Hope you enjoyed!

Karen’s Soaps

So…I just ordered these off etsy–a baker’s dozen of yummy soaps! They come in a bazillion scents but I picked my top 13 and hopefully I’ll get them quite soon! They’re pretty much perfect for me and my ever-changing moods and tastes. Plus with soap and perfume and stuff, you get so used to the smell that you start not being able to smell it (which was a real downer with the last soap I had, from Drew’s Mom…which made my mornings so yummy and delicious and fruity until it stopped being so intense after a while…)! So yay for constantly changing, cute little bars of soap!
