This photo reminds me of Laura…I imagine her tramping through the woods with sled dogs and happening upon this log cabin, which is inhabited by an attractive mountain man. It’d be contemplative and peaceful, the perfect place to write an existential novel (and speaking of existential novels, Notes from the Underground is a darn good one).
Yellow and White

So of course yellow is my favorite color–and also crisp, clean, white–so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I love this paintable wallpaper so you can really paint an accent wall without leaving the other walls looking incredibly neglected 
And, you know, I just love those lamps (from Pottery Barn!).
Zigzag

I’ve really been enjoying zig zags recently, especially in bold colors (and animal prints–I know, crazy!!). I love this red and white chair from Anna’s shop in Brisbane, and these pretty bowls from Anthropologie are so adorable!!! 
Chihuli

A few weeks ago there was a Chihuli exhibit at the Museum of Science & Industry, which was awesome. I am a big Chihuli fan…and he goes in the same class as Oscar de la Renta and Gaudi, whose art reminds me of a mix between art nouveau and classic lines. One of my favorite Chihuli installations is in the Garfield Conservatory in Chicago, although the Bellagio ceiling is pretty awesome too. 
The Election

I STILL haven’t decided who I’m going to vote for, and I’m anxiously awaiting my absentee ballot from PA. I’m getting a bit nervous it hasn’t arrived yet actually. Anyway, given that Obama has (probably greater than) a 50/50 shot at winning, I kind of really want to go to Obamapalooza, the Election night Obama party in Grant Park. I mean…when else am i going to have the opportunity? Though…Election night at Zach and Alex’s place (4 blocks from my apt) sounds a bit less cumbersome, especially since I have a midterm the next day. Hmmm…what do you think?

Well, I’m officially on a spending freeze, except for food (and the parking ticket I just got yesterday…argh). I’m hoping to save enough to do something fun over the holidays, though likely it’ll be decided last minute. I wouldn’t say no to a mini roadtrip in the NE, but it all depends on who’s around and dates and all that. We’ll see, but it should be fun.
If I WEREN’T on a freeze though, I might have to seriously consider these flats…

Short and Sweet

I am about to jump in the shower but thought I would do a little update since I have so much to post but no time to do it in. Today’s going to be rather crazy… I’m just hoping I actually make it to housegroup tonight, since I haven’t been for the past few weeks and I’m getting “Are you dead yet?” emails. Ay… Anyway, had a great time in DC this past weekend, and I’m really excited to have a mug of hot chocolate during my meeting at 9 this morning. And I finally got my flight for Homecoming so YAY North Carolina in a few weeks! Just in time for recruiting madness hooray! Okay, time to get cleaned.
